Rocking Horse Rocker - Baby Collection Card Tutorial

Rocking Horse Rocker - Baby Collection Card Tutorial

Hello Crafters,

Today's card tutorial, complete with a cute rocking action, has been crafted by our talented Christine, uses the brand-new Baby collection and is perfect for welcoming a new baby girl into the world. Of course, if it's a little boy making his grand entrance, a quick change of colourway and sentiment is all that's needed to make it perfect for him!

Read on for a full step-by-step project tutorial, complete with a materials list that has been linked so you can click on each product to go to its respective web page, making it easy for you to shop.

YOU WILL NEED:

INSTRUCTIONS:

1 Create a shaped card blank using the largest die from the Dainty Circles die set and fold in half across the centre to make a rocker card base. Use a bone folder to neaten the crease. Die-cut a panel of patterned paper from the Baby paper pad using the second-largest Dainty Circle die. Fold in half across the centre and affix to the rocker base, as shown, using dries-clear glue.

2 Die-cut a sheet of Crystal White pearl card using the third-largest Dainty Circles die, edge with Crystallina Sparkelicious glitter and affix the bottom half to the rocker card base to give you the first stand up layer, as shown.

3 Die-cut a sheet of yellow striped patterned paper from the Baby paper pad using the fourth-largest Dainty Circles die set and affix to the card front using foam pads. Die-cut a sheet of Crystal White pearl card using the sixth-largest Dainty Circles die. Emboss using the Stripes Background embossing folder, add Crystallina Sparkelicious glitter to the stripes using the chisel-tip glue pen, and affix to the card front using foam pads.

4 Stamp the rocking horse onto smooth white card using the Versafine Clair Morning Mist inkpad, cover with Clear Gloss Superfine embossing powder and heat set. Die-cut using the corresponding die. Colour the mane, tail, rocker and parts of the harness and saddle, as shown, using pink marker pens. Colour the remaining parts of the saddle and flowers using a yellow marker pen. Add Pink Perfection Sparkelicious glitter to the pink areas and Sugared Lemon to the yellow areas using dries-clear glue. Cover the horse with Crystallina glitter and the hooves with Winter Wonderland glitter. Affix to the card front, as shown, using foam pads.

5 Stamp a bow onto smooth white card using the Versafine Clair Morning Mist inkpad, cover with Clear Gloss Superfine embossing powder and heat set. Colour with pink and yellow markers, as shown. Infill the pink areas with Pink Perfection Sparkelicious glitter and affix to the horse, as shown, using glue gel. Add a Luscious Yellow Self-Adhesive Sparkle to the centre of the bow using glue gel.

6 Cover a sheet of white card with double-sided adhesive and die-cut the Baby Girl outlines. Die-cut the intricate words ‘Baby Girl’ from Crystal White pearl card. Remove the protective top layer from the outline shapes and affix the intricate words in place, as shown. Add Pink Perfection glitter to infill. Affix the sentiment to the card base using foam pads to finish.
