Butterfly Wishes - Card Tutorial

Hello Crafters,

Lovers of nature, specifically butterflies, will adore this pretty birthday card, created by our very own Chloe. As an extra-special treat for you, we also have this tutorial in video form, as Chloe demonstrated it during her live reveal of the new studio. Scroll to the bottom of this tutorial for the video.

Read on for a full step-by-step project tutorial, complete with a materials list that has been linked so you can click on each product to be sent to its respective web page, making it easy for you to shop.

YOU WILL NEED:

INSTRUCTIONS:

1 Die-cut a fancy circle from an 8x8” card blank to create a shaped card. Die-cut the same fancy circle from white cardstock, edge with a glue pen, and cover in Crystallina Sparkelicious glitter. Affix to the front of the card blank.

2 Die-cut two smaller fancy circles from two sheets of patterned paper. Edge with Crystallina Sparkelicious glitter, then affix to the card using foam pads.

3 Die-cut a decorative circle from patterned paper. Die-cut a smaller circle from the same set from white cardstock. Affix a double-sided adhesive sheet to white cardstock and die-cut a basic circle slightly larger than the decorative one. Peel off the backing and cover in Crystallina Sparkelicious glitter. Matt and layer the circles using foam pads and then affix to the card.

4 Die-cut a fancy circle from white cardstock. Stamp out the birthday verse into the centre using a Versafine Morning Mist inkpad and heat-set with Clear Gloss embossing powder. Edge the circle with a chisel-tip glue pen and cover in Crystallina Sparkelicious glitter. Affix to the card using foam pads.

5 Stamp out two small and two large butterflies onto white cardstock using a Morning Mist inkpad and heat-set using Clear Gloss embossing powder. Colour in using alcohol markers and die-cut using the coordinating dies. Apply dries-clear glue all over the butterflies and cover in Chunky Crystallina Sparkelicious glitter. Once dry, shape the wing and adhere together the two small butterflies and two large butterflies, ensuring you only glue the bodies, so the wings have movement. Affix to the card using 3D glue gel.

6 Add some floral sequins to the background and add a Self-adhesive Sparkle to the centre of each. Add a few Self-adhesive Sparkles to the background to finish.
