Fancy Pink Butterflies - Pretty Peonies Card Tutorial

Fancy Pink Butterflies - Pretty Peonies Card Tutorial

Hello Crafters,

Today's card tutorial, crafted by the talented Rebecca, uses the brand-new Pretty Peonies collection. The soft pink colourway creates a gentle feel, while the butterfly theme is sure to be a big hit with nature lovers. Although this card has been designed with birthdays in mind, by changing the central sentiment, it would work perfectly for so many other occasions in the cardmaking calendar.

Read on for a full step-by-step project tutorial, complete with a materials list that has been linked so you can click on each product to go to its respective web page, making it easy for you to shop.

YOU WILL NEED:

INSTRUCTIONS:

1 Die-cut a fancy square into a card blank, remembering to overhang from the spine slightly. Die-cut the same square from Rose Quartz pearl card. Edge with a thin line of dries-clear glue and cover with Chunky Crystallina Sparkelicious glitter. Affix to the card blank using dries-clear glue. Die-cut the next fancy square from Crystal White pearl card, edge with a glue pen, then cover with Glass Slipper Sparkelicious glitter. Affix to the card using foam pads. Die-cut the third die from a patterned paper and edge with Glass Slipper glitter. Affix to the card using foam pads.

2 Die-cut a scalloped oval from gold mirror card and affix to the card using foam pads. Die-cut a pierced oval from Crystal White pearl card and stamp out the verse into the centre using a clear embossing inkpad. Heat-emboss using Metallic Gold Superfine embossing powder. Affix to the card using foam pads.

3 Emboss two sheets of the Delightful Butterfly Ombre vellum using the matching embossing folder. Apply dots of glue to the centres and cover in Chunky Crystallina Sparkelicious glitter. Once dry, pull up the wings and glue two of each butterfly together. Affix to the card using foam pads or 3D glue gel. Add a few crystals to the bodies of the butterflies.

4 Apply dots of glue to the background and cover with Glass Slipper Sparkelicious glitter. Add some 5mm and 6mm crystals around the butterflies and to the corners too. Tie a triple bow, affix to the side of the card, then add a Sparkler to the centre. Add a few dots of glue to the sentiment oval and cover with Glass Slipper glitter. Add a few Self-adhesive Sparkles to finish.
