First Birthday - Baby Collection Card Tutorial

Hello Crafters,

Today's card tutorial, crafted by the talented Rebecca, features a delightful vintage-style rocking horse and has been made using the super-cute Baby collection. Although Rebecca created this card with a first birthday in mind, you can adapt the sentiment and colours to suit other occasions, including welcoming a little one to the world and baby's first Christmas.

Read on for a full step-by-step project tutorial, complete with a materials list that has been linked so you can click on each product to go to its respective web page, making it easy for you to shop.

YOU WILL NEED:

INSTRUCTIONS:

1 Trim a sheet of Rose Quartz pearl card to 7¾” square and affix to the card using dries-clear glue. Trim white cardstock to 7½” square and edge with a chisel-tip glue pen. Cover in Crystallina Sparkelicious glitter and affix to the card using foam pads. Trim patterned paper to 7¼” square and affix to the card using dries-clear glue.

2 Trim white cardstock to 6¾” square, edge with Crystallina Sparkelicious glitter, and affix to the card using foam pads. Trim a sheet of bow-patterned paper to 6½” square and affix to the card using foam pads. Add a tiny crystal to the centre of each of the bows on the paper.

3 Die-cut a rectangle from Rose Quartz pearl card. Using a quickie glue pen, apply glue to the debossed line and cover in Crystallina Sparkelicious glitter. Affix to the card using foam pads. Die-cut a smaller rectangle from Crystal White pearl card. Apply Crystallina to the debossed line, as before, and affix to the card using foam pads.

4 Stamp out the rocking horse and bow onto white card using a black inkpad and heat-emboss using Clear Gloss embossing powder. Colour in using alcohol markers and die-cut using the coordinating die. Affix to the card using foam pads. Attach the bow to the rocking horse, then add a self-adhesive sparkle to the centre of the bow and a few to the flowers.

5 Die-cut a small rectangle from Rose Quartz pearl card and apply Crystallina Sparkelicious glitter to the debossed line. Affix to the card using foam pads. Die-cut a smaller Crystal White rectangle and stamp a sentiment into the centre using black ink. Heat-emboss using Clear Gloss embossing powder. Affix to the card using foam pads.

6 Tie a triple bow and affix to the corner of the card using 3D glue gel. Colour in a sparkler using an alcohol marker and affix to the centre of the bow. Finally, add a few crystals to the corners of the card and some self-adhesive sparkles to the background.
