Pink Butterfly - Pretty Peonies Card Tutorial

Hello Crafters,

When you're short on time but still want to craft a card with big impact, look no further than today's card tutorial by the wonderful Rebecca. In just a few short steps, and using elements from the recent Pretty Peonies collection, along with some coordinating items, you too can produce this uplifting butterfly birthday card.

Read on for a full step-by-step project tutorial, complete with a materials list that has been linked so you can click on each product to go to its respective web page, making it easy for you to shop.

YOU WILL NEED:

INSTRUCTIONS:

1 Trim a sheet of Azalea pearl card to 7¾” square and edge with a chisel-tip glue pen. Cover in Glass Slipper Sparkelicious glitter and affix to the card using dries-clear glue. Trim a sheet of Crystal White pearl card to 7½” square and affix to the card using foam pads. Trim patterned paper to 7¼” square and affix to the card using foam pads.

2 Die-cut two fancy squares from Rose Quartz and Crystal White pearl card and edge with Glass Slipper glitter, then affix to the card using foam pads. Die-cut another from patterned paper and affix to the card using dries-clear glue. Die-cut two more, one from Crystal White pearl card (edging it with glitter), and another from Azalea pearl card. Stamp out the verse into the centre of the Azalea panel using a clear embossing inkpad, then heat-emboss using Opaque Bright White embossing powder. Affix to the card using foam pads.

3 Emboss two sheets of butterfly vellum and die-cut using the coordinating dies. Apply glue to the centres of the wings and cover in Crystallina Sparkelicious glitter. Once dry, pull up the wings and affix two of each together. Affix to the card using 3D glue gel. Stamp out the larger butterflies onto heat-resistant acetate using a clear embossing inkpad and heat-emboss using Sparkling Snow embossing powder. Trim around and affix to the butterflies to the card using 3D glue gel. Affix some crystals to each of the butterflies. To finish, add three crystals to the top-right and bottom-left corners of the card.
