Rocking Birthday - Happy Hobbies Collection Card Tutorial

Hello Crafters,

This striking red, black and silver musical birthday card by the super-creative Rebecca is bound to be a massive hit with music lovers everywhere! This tutorial uses the brand-new Happy Hobbies collection combined with coloured cardstock and gilding wax for spectacular results!

YOU WILL NEED:


INSTRUCTIONS:

1 Trim a sheet of silver mirror card down to 7¾” square and affix to the card using Dries-Clear glue. Trim a sheet of Onyx pearl card down to 7½” square and run through the embossing folder. Apply gilding wax to the embossed areas, then affix to the card using foam pads. Trim silver mirror card to 6¾” square and affix to the card using foam pads. Finally, trim white cardstock to 6½“ square and affix to the card using foam pads.

2 Create a 6¼” square panel from Onyx pearl card and stamp the star border in each corner using clear embossing inkpad, then heat-emboss using Opaque Bright White embossing powder. Affix the panel to the card using Dries-Clear glue.

3 Trim a sheet of white card to 6½” square and a sheet of Jupiter pearl card to 6¼” square. Stamp the star circle and sentiment onto the Jupiter pearl square using a clear embossing inkpad and then heat-emboss using Polished Silver Superfine embossing powder. Stamp ‘you rock’ in the bottom corner and heat-emboss using Polished Silver Superfine embossing powder. Affix both layers to the card using foam pads, then add some self-adhesive crystals to the star circle.

4 Stamp out the guitar onto white card using a black inkpad and heat-emboss using Clear Gloss embossing powder. colour in using alcohol markers and die-cut using the coordinating die. Decorate with metallic self-adhesive sparkles and cover the body of the guitar in Glossy Accents. Once dry, affix to the card using foam pads. Finally, add Metallic Silver Sparkles to the corners of the card.
