Rose Quartz Grande Floral Butterfly - Beautiful Butterflies Card Tutorial

• 8x8” white card blank
• Heat-resistant acetate
• Scoreboard
• Heat tool
• Die-cutting machine

INSTRUCTIONS:

1 Find the centre of the left-hand side of the card blank, score down the middle and fold outwards to make a half gatefold card shape.

2 Trim a sheet of Rose Quartz mirror card to 3¾x7¾” and affix to the front side of the gatefold. Trim a sheet of Crystal White pearl card to 3½x7½”, a sheet of Rose Quartz pearl card to 3¼x7¼”, and a sheet of patterned paper to 3x7”, add Glass Slipper Sparkelicious glitter to all the edges, and then matt and layer onto the left side of the gatefold. 

3 For the inside of the card, trim Rose Quartz mirror card to 7¾x7¾” and attach to the card base. Trim Crystal White pearl card to 7½x7½”, Rose Quartz pearl card to 7¼x7¼”, and patterned paper to 7x7”. Add Glass Slipper Sparkelicious glitter to the edges of all the panels and matt and layer onto the inside panel of the card. 

4 Using the third-largest Lacy Circles die, cut two pieces of Rose Quartz pearl card. Using the fourth-largest Lacy Circles die, cut two pieces of White Crystal pearl card. Using the smallest Lacy Circle die, cut one piece of Rose Quartz pearl card. Stamp a sentiment onto the smallest lacy circle using clear embossing ink, cover with Metallic Silver Super Fine embossing powder and heat set. Add Glass Slipper Sparkelicious glitter to the edges of each lacy circle. Matt and layer onto the front and inside of the card, as shown, with the sentiment on the inside panel.

5 Stamp six large and two medium Country Flowers images onto Rose Quartz pearl paper using clear embossing ink, cover with Sparkling Snow embossing glitter and heat set. Add dots of glue to the petals and sprinkle with Unicorn Sparkle Sparkelicious glitter. Layer up the flowers using 3D glue gel and affix an embellishment to the centre of each flower. Affix the flowers to the card, as shown, using 3D glue gel.

6 Stamp two large swirls and two small swirls from the Botanical Butterfly Swirl stamp and die set onto heat-resistant acetate using clear embossing ink, cover with Sparkling Snow embossing glitter and heat set. Cut out the swirls by hand and add Iridescent floral sequins to the edges of each swirl using dries-clear adhesive. Attach the swirls around the flowers using 3D glue gel.  

7 Stamp two butterflies from the Botanical Butterfly Swirl stamp and die set onto heat-resistant acetate using clear ink, cover with Opaque Bright White embossing powder and heat set. Cut out the butterflies by hand, infill the reverse of each butterfly with dries-clear adhesive, and cover with Sugared Pink Sparkelicious glitter then set aside to dry. Once dry, affix the butterflies to the front of the card.

8 Stamp a Grande Floral Butterfly image onto Rose Quartz pearl card using clear embossing ink, cover with Sparkling Snow embossing glitter and heat set. Line up the butterfly die from the same set onto your stamped image and run through the die-cutting machine. Die-cut another butterfly from Rose Quartz mirror card and layer the two butterflies together using 3D glue gel.

9 Stamp the Grande Floral Butterfly onto two pieces of Rose Quartz pearl paper using clear embossing ink, cover with Sparkling Snow embossing glitter and heat set. Cut out the flowers and foliage from the butterflies and layer the flowers together using 3D glue gel. Add tiny dots of dries-clear adhesive to the petals and sprinkle with Unicorn Sparkle Sparkelicious glitter. Add gems from the Bling Box to the centre of each flower and attach all the flowers and foliage to the front of the butterfly, as shown.

10 Finally, add some gems from the Bling Box to the centre of the Grande Floral Butterfly and affix to the front of the card, as shown.
