Santa Claus is Coming - Santa's Workshop Card Tutorial

Hello Crafters,

Santa Claus is well and truly coming to town in today's card tutorial by the talented Glynis! Using items from the new Santa's Workshop collection, Glynis has crafted this wonderful card that is full of Christmas joy. You could have so much fun making this card, either recreating exactly as Glynis has done here, or adapting it to introduce paper-pieced elements. In order for you to recreate your own version of this great Christmas card, we have full instructions for you to follow.

Read on for a full step-by-step project tutorial, complete with linked materials list.

YOU WILL NEED:

INSTRUCTIONS:

Cut a panel of red mirror card and adhere to the base card. Using the Scalloped and Pierced Square die set, cut the largest die in white card and go around the edges using Crystallina Sparkelicious glitter. Die-cut the next die from the set using red mirror card. Trim a sheet of patterned paper from Santa’s Workshop paper pad to fit inside the mirror card panel, go around the four sides using Diamante Sparkle Sparkelicious glitter, adhere the three panels together, and secure onto the base card.

2 Die-cut the fifth die from the set from white card twice, then go around the edges of each piece with Crystallina Sparkelicious glitter. Using the sixth die, cut from red mirror card. For the underneath layer, trim a sheet of patterned paper from the pad, go around the edges using Diamante Sparkle Sparkelicious glitter, then matt and layer the three panels together and secure onto the main card with foam pads. For the top layer, trim down a sheet of white card to fit, cover with a A4 double-sided sticky sheet, then place in the middle of the Decadent Dots embossing folder and emboss. Remove the top protective sheet and cover with Crystallina Sparkelicious glitter. Matt and layer the three panels together and secure onto the base card with foam pads.

3 Stamp, heat-emboss and die-cut Santa’s Boot four times onto white card using Versafine Clair Black ink and Clear Gloss embossing powder. Take two images and colour with the marker pens. With the other two boots, cover the fur trim with Winter Wonderland Sparkelicious glitter, colour the buckle with the marker pens, then apply the Glossy Accents and cover with Sunset Boulevard Sparkelicious glitter. When dry, cut out the fur trim and buckle and attach to the main image using Pinflair glue gel.

4 Stamp, heat-emboss and die-cut the small images, as shown. Colour and glitter with Crystallina, Diamante Sparkle and Red Poinsettia Sparkelicious glitter. Adhere to the underneath of each boot and secure onto the main card with foam pads.

5 Stamp and heat-emboss the sentiment onto white card using a clear embossing inkpad and O’ Christmas Tree embossing powder. Go around the edges using Diamante Sparkle Sparkelicious glitter and attach to the card with foam pads to finish.
