Pastel Butterfly Dreams - Pretty Peonies Card Tutorial

Pastel Butterfly Dreams - Pretty Peonies Card Tutorial

Hello Crafters,

Today's special card tutorial, crafted by the lovely Rebecca, is a delightful rainbow-coloured, nature-inspired birthday card using a great selection of items from the newly launched Pretty Peonies collection.

Read on for a full step-by-step project tutorial, complete with a materials list that has been linked so you can click on each product to go to its respective web page, making it easy for you to shop.

YOU WILL NEED:

INSTRUCTIONS:

1 Trim a sheet of white card to 7¾” square and ink over using all the Distress Oxides to create a coloured marbled background. Apply a double-sided adhesive sheet over the top, peel off the backing, and cover in Crystallina Sparkelicious glitter.

2 Trim a sheet of Amethyst pearl card to 7¼” square and affix to the card using foam pads. Trim down a sheet of Crystal White pearl card, edge with a chisel-tip glue pen, then cover with Crystallina Sparkelicious glitter. Affix to the card using foam pads. Trim patterned paper to 7” square and affix to the card using dries-clear glue.

3 Die-cut a Fancy Square from Crystal White pearl card and emboss using the Butterfly Background embossing folder. Affix the panel to the card using foam pads.

4 Stamp out the verse onto Crystal white pearl card using a clear embossing inkpad and heat-emboss using Metallic Silver Superfine embossing powder. Trim and edge with Crystallina Sparkelicious glitter. Affix to the card using foam pads.

5 Emboss two sheets of the vellum using the Delightful Butterflies embossing folder, apply dries-clear glue to the details on each of the butterflies, then cover in Diamante Sparkle glitter. Once dry, shape the wings, adhere together at just the bodies, then affix to the card using 3D glue gel. Add a few crystals down the bodies of each butterfly. Add a few self-adhesive sparkles to the background.

6 Add three crystals in each of the corners of the card. Add a few dots of dries-clear glue to the background and cover in Crystallina Sparkelicious glitter to finish.
