12 Projects of Christmas 2024 - Day 1 - Christmas Poinsettias

Welcome to the 2024 instalment of the highly-popular 12 Projects of Christmas series! This year, we have a wide variety of festive makes for you, covering lots of techniques and styles to suit all tastes and ability levels. We hope that you enjoy it.
We're kicking off this year's series with this stylish Christmas Poinsettias creation by the fabulous Glynis. Using the Winter Wonderland collection for the main areas on the design, and sticking to a glamorous and timeless white and gold colour scheme, Glynis has produced this wonderful Christmas card that's deceptively quick and easy to recreate.

As an added bonus, we've created FREE project sheets for every tutorial in the series. You will find the link to today's PDF download sheet at the bottom of the instructions below.
What you'll need:

How to make:

1 Trim down a sheet of gold mirror card and patterned paper from the Elegant Christmas foiled paper pad. Glitter the four sides of the patterned panel using Diamante Sparkle Sparkelicious glitter, then matt and layer both panels onto the base card.

2 Die-cut the On the Edge Poinsettia die set onto the right-hand side of a panel of white card. Glitter the foliage, flowers and three sides using Crystal Crush, Stardust Gold and Diamante Sparkle Sparkelicious glitter. Die-cut once more for extra flowers and glitter. Using just the outer die, place onto a piece of gold mirror card and die-cut. Matt and layer the previous die-cut piece on top so that just a small gold rim is showing. Secure the silver cord in place and attach this layer to the base card with foam pads.

3 Secure the extra flowers in place using 3D glue gel and adhere a 10 or 12mm Sparkler to the middle of each one.

4 Stamp and heat-emboss the sentiment from the Elegant Christmas Verses stamp set. Matt and layer onto gold mirror card and secure in place with foam pads.

5 Finish by decorating the plain white background with a bow, 12mm Sparkler and Metallic Sparkles.

What did you think of Glynis's golden Christmas card? Hopefully, it's one that you'll like to try recreating at home. We would love to see your take on this and any other of your Chloe's Creative Cards creations, so be sure to share your makes in our Facebook group!
