For My Lovely Grandma - 8x8" Pierced and Scalloped Dies and Embossing Folders Card Tutorial

Hello Crafters,

Today, Christine shows us simplicity at its finest with this elegant card tutorial using the brand-new 8x8" Pierced and Scalloped nesting dies and the coordinating 8x8" embossing folders. As well as using the dies to create matts, layers, and frames, Christine also uses them to create a scalloped edge card blank! The central 'Grandma' die-cut shape can easily be switched for any other recipient, as would the greeting at the top and bottom, proving that the main design can be utilised for so many different occasions.

YOU WILL NEED:

    INSTRUCTIONS:

Die-cut a scalloped square card base using the largest scalloped square die and a white card blank. Place the die slightly over the edge of the card spine and affix it with low-tack tape before running it through an A4 die-cutting machine. Cut another scalloped square from the Opal pearl card using the same die. Go around the edges with the chisel-tip glue pen, then cover with Glistening Ice Sparkelicious glitter. Affix to the front of the card base using Dries-Clear glue.

2 Using the second-largest die from the Pierced and Scalloped Squares die set, die-cut a sheet of Rose Quartz card, then attach it to the card front using 3D foam pads. Cut a sheet of Opal pearl card using the third-largest die from the same set. Glitter the edges with Glistening Ice Sparkelicious glitter and affix to the card front using foam pads.

3 Die-cut Opal pearl card using the fourth-largest die from the same set as Step 2. Place the die-cut panel inside the Fabulous Fans embossing folder and run through the die-cutting machine. Ensure that you’re using the correct plate configurations for your machine for embossing. Using Dries-Clear glue, add Pink Perfection Sparkelicious glitter to the embossed details in a repeating pattern, as shown. Repeat this process with the remainder of the pattern using Glistening Ice Sparkelicious glitter. Trim a strip of vellum and wrap it around the centre, securing it on the back of the card with Dries-Clear glue. Affix this layer to the card front using foam pads. Die-cut the word ‘Grandma’ from gold matt mirror card and adhere to the vellum wrap using Dries-Clear glue. Add some iridescent floral sequins to the vellum wrap using Dries-Clear glue.

4 Create a frame from Rose Quartz pearl card using the fourth- and seventh-largest Pierced and Scalloped Square die set. From the Relatives stamp and die set, stamp ‘for my lovely’ onto the top-left of the frame using the clear inkpad, cover with Polished Gold Super Fine embossing powder and heat set. Repeat this process with the stamp ‘on your birthday’ on the bottom-right of the frame. Add foam pads cut to size to the reverse of the frame, affix to the embossed panel, and layer on the card front, as shown.

5 Add Pretty Pinks Self-Adhesive Sparkles to the corners and between the embossed details in the centre of the card to finish.
