Ice-Skating Scene - Frosty Christmas Card Tutorial

Hello Crafters,
If you're after inspiration for a fabulous Christmas card, you've come to the right place! Our talented Design Team member, Glynis has been getting into the festive spirit with our brand new Frosty Christmas collection! The results are spectacular so we're sharing it with you so that you are able to re-create it yourself.
This beautiful card has a real Dickensian feel to it, depicting a Christmas village scene with people out skating and out and about, wrapped up for the cold weather. It has been made using a selection of items from the newly-launched Frosty Christmas collection, with the main focus the Ice Skating Scene stamp! Read on full a full step-by-step project tutorial.

YOU WILL NEED:

INSTRUCTIONS:

Stamp and heat-emboss the Ice-Skating Scene image onto Crystal White pearl card using the Versafine Clair Black inkpad and WOW Clear Gloss embossing powder.

2 Make a cloud stencil by roughly drawing scallops on a piece of scrap card and fussy cutting out. Next, place the stencil onto the stamped image and colour it with Tumbled Glass Oxide inkpad. Keep moving the stencil into a different place and blend with the oxide ink until it looks like clouds. Finally, colour with the maker pens and add Snowball and Crystallina Sparkelicious glitter.

3 Cut three different matts for the stamped image in Crystal White Pearl and Vista mirror card. Glitter the edges of the two white ones using Diamante Sparkle Sparkelicious glitter, then attach the stamp image to the smaller white matt. Next, adhere to the Vista mirror matt with 3D foam pads and then onto the larger white one.

4 Trim a sheet of Vista mirror card to fit the base card and secure it in place. For the next layer, use a piece of Crystal White card, adding Diamante Sparkle Sparkelicious glitter to the four sides, then attach on top of patterned paper from the Frosty Christmas foiled paper pad and secure in place with 3D foam pads.

5 Repeat this process for the next layer; this time, matt and layer the three pieces together. Next, securely fix the ribbon and bow to the left-hand side and attach it to the base card with 3D foam pads. Finally, attach the stamped image to the card using foam pads.

6 Stamp and heat-emboss the sentiment from the Snowflake Sentiment stamp and die set onto Crystal White card using Versafine Clair Black inkpad and WOW Clear Gloss embossing powder. Matt and layer onto Vista mirror card and attach with foam pads.

7 Glue the extra-large jewel onto the bow and secure the pearls from the Frosty Christmas Bling Box into place using the Art Glitter Dries Clear PVA glue.
