Navy Poinsettia - Elegant Christmas Card Tutorial

Today's blog project is a deep, elegant navy Christmas card made by the incredibly talented Rebecca. Rebecca has used items from the brand-new Elegant Christmas collection to create this stunning, timeless card - one that's perfect for those who like using alternative colour palettes in their Christmas crafting creations.

YOU WILL NEED: 

     

    INSTRUCTIONS:

    Trim a sheet of silver mirror card to 7¾” square and affix to the card base using dries-clear glue. Trim Lapis Lazuli pearl card to 7½” square and affix to the card using foam pads.

    2 Die-cut the largest holly frame from Lapis Lazuli pearl card. Apply glue to all the edges using a chisel-tip glue pen then cover in Stardust Blue Sparkelicious glitter. Affix to the card base using foam pads. Trim Crystal White pearl card to 6¼” square and affix to the card using foam pads. Trim a sheet of foiled paper to 6” square and affix to the card using dries-clear glue.

    3 Trim silver mirror card down to 3½” square. Trim Crystal White pearl card to 3¼” square. Die-cut the smallest Holly Frame from Lapis Lazuli pearl card. Edge with a chisel-tip glue pen and Stardust Blue Sparkelicious glitter. Trim another piece of Crystal White pearl card to 2½” square and stamp out one of the verses into the centre using a clear embossing inkpad. Heat-emboss using Metallic Silver Superfine embossing powder. Affix to the centre of the card using foam pads.

    4 Die-cut four large solid poinsettias, four medium solid poinsettias, two large fancy poinsettias, and two medium fancy poinsettias from Lapis Lazuli pearl card. Apply glue using a chisel-tip glue pen to the fancy poinsettias and cover in Stardust Blue Sparkelicious glitter. Layer up the flowers using two solid and two fancy poinsettias. Affix to the card using 3D glue gel. Die-cut four stamens from silver mirror card and add to the centre of each poinsettia. Add a crystal to the centre.

    5 Take the holly spray from the Holly Frames die set and cut two from Lapis Lazuli pearl card and two from Crystal White pearl card. Carefully tuck in behind the poinsettias using 3D glue gel. To finish the card, add three crystals to the corners of the card.
