Sending You a Little Sunshine - Statement Sentiments Card Tutorial

Hello Crafters,

Yellow is such a happy, cheery colour, so this colour combination, coupled with the sunshiny sentiment, is bound to brighten up the recipient's day! Christine has done a marvellous job with this card design, combining the brand-new Statement Sentiments stamp sets with the Pierced and Scalloped die sets, the Decadent Dots embossing folder, and floral dies. The results are nothing short of spectacular!

YOU WILL NEED:

    INSTRUCTIONS:

Die-cut a scalloped circle card base using the largest scalloped circle die and a white card blank. Place the die slightly over the edge of the card fold and affix it with low-tac tape before running it through an A4 die-cutting machine. Cut another scalloped circle from Crystal White pearl card using the same die, go around the edges with a chisel-tip glue pen, and cover with Crystallina Sparkelicious glitter. Affix to the front of the scalloped circle card base using dries-clear glue.

2 Using the second-largest die from the Pierced and Scalloped die set, die-cut a circle from gold mirror card, then attach to the card front using 3D foam pads. Using the third-largest die from the same die set, cut a scalloped circle from Crystal White pearl card. Place the scalloped circle inside the Decadent Dots embossing folder and run through the die-cutting machine, using the correct plate configuration for your machine, to emboss the card. Use the surface of the Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide inkpad to lightly rub over the embossed details, adding colour to the raised areas only. Affix to the card front using foam pads. Cut a sheet of yellow watercolour paper from the Summer Florals 8x8" paper pad using the sixth-largest die from the same set. Edge with Peach Melba Sparkelicious glitter using Dries-Clear adhesive and affix to the card front using foam pads.

3 Using the seventh-largest die from the same set as Step 2, die-cut a piece of Crystal White pearl card. Stamp the statement sentiment into the circle's centre using the clear inkpad, cover with Twinkling Lights embossing glitter and heat set. Affix to the card front using foam pads.

4 Stamp four large flowers and two medium four-petal flowers onto vellum using the clear inkpad, cover with Opaque Bright White Super Fine embossing powder and heat set. Cut out the flowers by hand, then, using Chloe's Ink Blending Brush and the Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide inkpad, add colour to the reverse of each flower. Add dots of dries-clear adhesive to the petals of each flower and sprinkle with Lemon Drop Sparkelicious glitter. Shape the petals around a paintbrush and layer up the flowers, as shown, using 3D glue gel. Add a 10mm Sparkler to the centre of each large flower and a medium gem from Chloe's Everyday Essentials Bling Box to the centre of the smaller flower using 3D glue gel. As shown, affix the flowers around the circular card using 3D glue gel.

5 Die-cut four pieces of gold mirror card using the Swirly Foliage die set and attach them to the card around the flowers using 3D glue gel. Create a bow from Glittering Gold Luxe ribbon and attach it to the card, as shown, using 3D glue gel. Affix Luscious Yellows Self-Adhesive Sparkles to the stamped and embossed details in the centre of the card to finish.
