Happy Birthday - Statement Sentiments Card Tutorial

Hello Crafters,

Sticking to one main colour can be a great way to create impact on a card design and this is exactly what Rebecca has done with today's birthday-themed card. Rebecca has used the 'Happy Birthday' stamp set from the newly-launched Statement Sentiments collection with fabulous results.

YOU WILL NEED: 

     

    INSTRUCTIONS:

    Trim a sheet of Lagoon mirror card to 7¾” square and affix to the card blank using dries-clear glue. Trim white card to 7½” square and edge with a chisel-tip glue pen then cover in Crystallina Sparkelicious glitter. Affix to the card using foam pads. Trim patterned paper to 7¼” square and affix to the card using dries-clear glue. Choose a sheet of printed paper and trim to 6¾” square then edge in Crystallina Sparkelicious glitter. Affix to the card using foam pads. Trim a sheet of Lagoon matt mirror card to 6½” square and affix to the card using dries-clear glue. Trim a sheet of patterned paper to 6¼” square and affix to the card using foam pads.

    2 Stamp out the sentiment panel onto Crystal White pearl card using a clear embossing inkpad then heat-emboss using Uptown embossing powder. Infill the word ‘birthday’ using dries-clear glue and cover in Jazzy Jade Sparkelicious glitter. Edge the piece using a chisel-tip glue pen and cover in Crystallina Sparkelicious glitter. Matt and layer onto Lagoon matt mirror card and affix to the card using foam pads.

    3 Die-cut 12 large flowers from Watercolour Washes vellum. Stamp the coordinating centres into the middle of the flowers using a clear embossing inkpad. Heat-emboss using Opaque Bright White embossing powder. Shape by creating a valley fold down the centre of each petal and layer three flowers together using 3D glue gel. Affix to the card using 3D glue gel. Die-cut four stamens and apply dries-clear glue to the edges then cover in Jazzy Jade Sparkelicious glitter. Affix to the flowers then add a Sparkler to the centre.

    4 Die-cut four pieces of Swirly Foliage from white card. Cover in glue using a chisel-tip glue pen and cover in Stardust Silver Sparkelicious glitter. Die-cut some Beautiful Bouquet Foliage from Crystal White pearl card then shape by creating a valley fold down the centre of each leaf. Tuck in behind the flowers using 3D glue gel. Add a few rhinestones to the background and to the corners to finish the card.
