Today and Always - Botanical Blooms Card Tutorial

Hello Crafters,

Today's card tutorial, using the recent Botanical Blooms collection, is a pretty, delicate design. Although this card was created for a birthday, its design is also perfect for a wide range of occasions, from weddings to 'thank you' cards. We have the super-talented Glynis to thank for this gorgeous layout with a soft, pastel colourway.

Read on for a full step-by-step project tutorial, complete with a materials list linked so you can click each product to be taken to its respective web page, making it easy to shop.

YOU WILL NEED:

    INSTRUCTIONS:

Score and fold the A3 card in half, and then cut it in half so the fold is at the top. Place the lacy die from the Exquisite Lace Rectangle die set in the middle of the front of the base card only. Have the cutting plates aligned with the fold on the card so that the back of the card protrudes from the plates.

2 For the inside of the card, place a sheet of acetate at the back of the lacy die-cut shape. Matt and layer silver mirror card and patterned paper from the Floral Lace foiled paper pad to the back part of the base card.

3 Trim a sheet of white card slightly smaller than the main card to fit the front. Place the outer die from the Exquisite Lace Rectangle die set in the middle and die-cut. Slightly blend the Shaded Lilac Oxide inkpad over the edges, cover with Crystallina Sparkelicious glitter, and secure onto the main card with foam pads.

4 Die-cut and emboss the Exquisite Flower using white card numerous times. Go around the edges using Glass Slipper Sparkelicious glitter, then shape the petals and adhere them together. Die-cut the Leafy die set in silver mirror card and Swirly Foliage in white card. Cover with Diamante Sparkle Sparkelicious glitter and attach the flower and foliage onto the base card with 3D glue gel.

5 Cut the inner middle dies in white card, colour the largest with the oxide ink and cover with Crystallina Sparkelicious glitter. Stamp and heat-emboss the sentiment from the Birthday Happiness stamp set onto the smaller die-cut panel using Polished Silver embossing powder and the clear embossing inkpad. Adhere to the main card using foam pads on each panel.

6 Die-cut the butterflies from the Butterfly Embellishment vellum pad twice. Affix to a silver mirror card die-cut panel and secure in place. Decorate the lacy background and flower with pearls from the Frosty Christmas Bling Box to finish.
