Christmas Bauble Border - Elegant Christmas Card Tutorial

Hello Crafters,

Today's Christmas card creation, made using the new Elegant Christmas collection is a lesson in paper piecing, and how you can use papers and cardstock to layer up stamped images for beautiful results. Our very talented Design Team member, Rebecca has created this eye-catching card, made in traditional red, white, and green colours, for today's tutorial.

YOU WILL NEED: 

     

    INSTRUCTIONS:

    Trim down a sheet of Jupiter pearl card to 7¾” square. Edge with glue using a chisel-tip glue pen and cover in Stardust Red Sparkelicious glitter. Affix to the card using dries-clear glue. Trim down a sheet of Crystal White pearl card to 7½” square, edge in glue and cover in Crystallina Sparkelicious glitter. Affix to the card using foam pads. Trim a sheet of fairway pearl card down to 7¼” and edge in Crystallina Sparkelicious glitter, then affix to the base card using dries-clear glue.

    2 Trim a sheet of foiled paper to 7” square and affix to the base card using foam pads. Trim Jupiter pearl card to 6¼” and affix to the base card using foam pads.

    3 Take another sheet of Crystal White pearl card and trim to 6” square. Stamp out the Elegant Baubles border onto the panel using the clear embossing inkpad and cover in Metallic Silver Superfine embossing powder and heat emboss. Affix to the card using foam pads. Apply dots of glitter to the border and cover in Starlit Sky Sparkelicious glitter. Stamp out the border again, this time onto Jupiter pearl card and Fairway pearl card and heat-emboss using Metallic Silver Superfine embossing powder. Carefully cut out the baubles and affix to the card using foam pads, as shown.

    4 Apply glue to the baubles and cover in Red Poinsettia Sparkelicious glitter. Apply glue to the tree bauble and cover in Mint Crisp Sparkelicious glitter. Tie four small bows and affix to the top of each bauble. Add a bling stone to the centre of each bow.

    5 Die-cut the second Holly Frame from a piece of Fairway pearl card. Die-cut square 15 ­­from the centre of the frame. Cover in glue using a chisel-tip glue pen then sprinkle Stardust Green Sparkelicious glitter over the entire frame. Affix to the base card using foam pads.

    6 Die-cut Oval 18 from Jupiter pearl card. Die-cut Oval 19 from Fairway pearl card. Edge in Stardust Green Sparkelicious glitter. Die-cut Oval 20 from Crystal White pearl card. Stamp out one of the verses using the clear embossing inkpad and heat-emboss using Metallic Silver Superfine embossing powder. Affix to the card using foam pads.

    7 Finish by tying a small bow and affixing to the bottom of the card, then adding a bling stone to the centre.
