Birthday Beer Cardmaking Project by Rebecca Houghton

Today's project from the talented Rebecca swaps birthday cake for this fun birthday beer candle cake using our new Birthday Beer and Beer Bottles Stamp Sets.

We all struggle for card-making inspiration from time to time and we are often asked for examples of how to make greetings cards for men and we think this free tutorial will be perfect.

Using our new Beer Cap Background Stamp to create this rich Mars Pearl Card base layer which has been embossed using our Metallic Gold SuperFine WOW Embossing Powder - this is such a statement card and will be perfect to mark a variety of celebrations throughout the year!

What you'll need:

• White 8" x 8" Straight Edge Card Blank

Instructions:

• Use die 3 from the extra large square nesting dies and cut into a piece of gold mirror card. Affix to the card blank using dries clear glue. 
• Use die 4 and cut from Mars pearl card. Affix using foam pads. Use die 6 and cut from white card, affix using foam pads. Use die 7 and cut from gold mirror card, affix using dries clear glue. 

• Use die 8 square nesting die and cut from Mars pearl card. Stamp the beer cap background stamp image onto the Mars pearl card using a clear embossing ink pad and aline to create a full background. Heat emboss using Metallic Gold Superfine WOW Embossing Powder. Affix to the card using dries clear glue. 
• Cut a strip of gold mirror card to 2 and 1/2 inches wide and the same length as the Mars pearl card piece. Affix, slightly off centre using foam pads. Cut a piece of crystal white pearl card to 2 and 1/4 inches wide and same length of the Mars pearl card piece. Affix using dries clear glue. 

• Stamp out the beer bottle and 2 of the beer glasses onto stamping card and die cut using coordinating dies. Colour using alcohol markers. Affix to the card using 3D glue gel. 

• Stamp out the candle stamp and die cut using coordinating die. Colour using alcohol markers and affix to the card using 3D glue gel.

• Stamp out the Happy Birthday sentiment from the birthday beer stamp set onto white card using a black ink pad. Trim using a guillotine. Cut a slightly larger gold mirror card layer and affix both to the cards using foam pads. 

• Using the decagon nesting die set use die 22 and cut from gold mirror card, cut die 23 from white card. Affix both together using dries clear glue. Cut die 24 from Mars pearl card and affix using foam pads. Attach to the card using foam pads. 

• Die cut the cheers sentiment from gold mirror card. And the matt layer from white vellum. Attach together using dries clear glue. Affix to the centre of the decagon using 3D glue gel. 

• Finally add three bling crystals to the corners and three to the centre of the beer bottle.
